Job Overview:
The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Manager to join our team. As a Sales Manager at the Mission Inn Hotel, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of sales professionals, driving sales growth, and developing new business opportunities. The Sales Manager is responsible for managing corporate preferred (Landmark) transient segments and corporate group segment with a focus on increasing volume of business, ADR, the number of active Landmark accounts and annual production with The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa standards and while meeting employee, guest and owner expectations. This is a key leadership role within our organization, and we are looking for someone who is passionate about sales, has strong business acumen, and can effectively manage a sales team. Hotel experience required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Fully develop and penetrate Corporate Negotiated & Corporate Group market segments
- Achieve room night and revenue goals for all segments
- Maintain weekly telephone and outside solicitation, travel agency presentations
- Make a minimum of 30 solicitation calls per day
- Develop new accounts and maintain growth of existing accounts
- Is current on market conditions and competitors
- Abides by all sales office procedures and systems
- Participate in sales or revenue management meetings as directed
- You must be able to travel to attend workshops, tradeshows, conventions, etc. and may be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays
- Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
- Prioritize and organize.
- Negotiate, convince, sell and influence professionals and hotel guests.
- Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgement.
- Follow directions thoroughly
- Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.

Qualifications and Requirements:
Requirements include some College plus 1-2 years sales or marketing related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience and a related degree is preferred. Prior hotel sales experience is also preferred.
- Proven track record of exceeding production goals
- Must have at least 1 year of BT sales experience, preferably in the downtown market.
- Able to develop sales plans with measurable results and explore networking opportunities
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, have a polished and professional demeanor
- Experience with Lanyon, Delphi, Opera PMS platform is preferred
