What are the responsibilities and job description for the Information Technology Infrastructure Manager position at The Missouri Bar?
Purpose: The Infrastructure Manager is responsible for building, maintaining, and securing the IT infrastructure for the organization. This includes, but is not limited to, servers, server applications, networks, storage, workstations, and printers. Responsibilities include building, maintaining, securing, and repairing all systems and network infrastructure of the organization. The Infrastructure Manager will also lead or help in IT infrastructure projects, and projects that require IT infrastructure, providing expertise on the systems-related aspects of the project and help guide project teams on the feasibility and the success factors of the project.
General Qualifications: The Infrastructure Manager should be well-versed in general IT processes, standards, equipment, and systems and have a range of IT experience. The ability to problem solve, work as part of a team while also working independently, manage time and workload efficiently, and the ability to communicate effectively are all essential to the position. The ability to interact with clients, internal and external, with the goal of exceptional customer service, is required. The Infrastructure Manager should also be able to construct multi-year plans and then execute them.
Responsibilities/Job Functions:
• Manages the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of IT systems, including servers, workstations, networks, operating systems, hardware, software, and peripherals.
• Oversees and manages IT security for the organization.
• Oversees and maintains vulnerability management and system patching.
• Oversees and maintains server applications.
• Oversees and maintains workstation applications used by staff.
• Oversees and maintains the virtual server environment (currently VMWare).
• Oversees and maintains cloud hosted environments and servers (currently Microsoft Azure).
• Oversees and maintains the organization’s Microsoft 365 environment.
• Oversees provision of user accounts and system access.
• Oversees and maintains system backups in accordance with the business continuity and disaster recovery plan.
• Responds to help desk tickets and supports infrastructure and systems.
• Travels offsite to provide technical support for Missouri Bar supported events.
• Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
• Monitors and complete projects by coordinating resources and timetables with the CTO and other departments.
• Keeps current with the latest technologies and recommends new technology solutions to meet business and system requirements.
• Supports The Missouri Bar’s overall mission, standards, policies and procedures, and confidentiality guidelines.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT administration and security is required.
• Experience managing a virtual server environment is required.
• Experience managing a cloud server environment is preferred.
• Experience designing and maintaining simple networks is preferred.
• Experience managing a Microsoft 365 hybrid environment is preferred.
• Experience managing IT security within, and across, environments is preferred.
