In Office Requirements: Hybrid onsite for 2 or 3 days per week.
The Software Engineering department works to deliver value and provide direct sponsor impact. Prototype new capabilities and deliver advanced experimental functionality to address unmet business and mission needs. Opportunities to work across a wide range of tech-stacks and software engineering technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and test software based on project requirements and specifications.
- Collaborate with team members to design innovative software solutions.
- Write clean, scalable, and efficient code using programming languages like Java, C , Python, etc.
- Debug and troubleshoot software to resolve issues and improve performance.
- Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share best practices. Assist in the documentation of software, including user manuals and technical reports.
Basic Qualifications:
- Sustained excellence in academic performance
- Must be a student enrolled full-time in an accredited degree-seeking program in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related degree and continue to be enrolled full-time the semester following the internship.
- "Hands-on" skills in at least one or more programming language
- Familiarity with software development methodologies
- Exposure to software development tools and frameworks, including source control management tools (e.g., Git)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated interest in serving the public
- Experience having applied computer science learning to an internship or research/lab position.
- Knowledge of software design patterns
