About The Role
TMH seeks a passionate Test Engineer with hands-on experience working with electric vehicle charging equipment and the OCPP protocol. This test engineer will help us accelerate the transition to zero-emission transportation by joining our North America division hybrid from the Bay Area, California. Fueled by the momentum of the EV industry, TMH aims to design, develop, and enhance its ChargePilot product to address the global needs of our bus and truck customers across North America and Europe.
This Test Engineer will work closely with our Product team, Business Development team, and Tech team to understand TMH’s top priorities, perform integration testing, and most importantly, deliver these integrations from end-to-end. This role focuses on testing our EV charging management software, remotely operating EV chargers at our customers' sites, with access to a local lab for all testing needs. As our OCPP expert, they would also support the North America team with challenges related to the OCPP standard. Successful candidates will need to be self-sufficient, organized, collaborative, out of the box thinkers. Responsibilities
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for integration of The Mobility House software with vendor hardware and software
- Perform software integration testing using standards such as OCPP, Modbus, and APIs; including real-time support of our Project Managers during first-time site deployments
- Manage a prioritization roadmap for new integrations, including collecting input from and communicating updates to the team
- Oversee local product release testing including tracking releases, running tests, and reporting findings
- Document test results, commissioning process, commercial points of contact, support guides, and anything else required for production readiness
- Serve as technical point of contact for our EVSE partners
- Participate as our subject matter expert for all things related to chargers and OCPP
- Manage the local testing lab
- Travel up to 10% of time to customer sites for installs or troubleshooting

- Energy or transportation industry experience as a test engineer or in an integration role
- Strong background in stakeholder management, including great communication skills (verbal & written) and ability to implement projects independently with confidence
- Experience with integration and release testing of software products
- Knowledge of OCPP, preferably involving day-to-day OCPP work
- Software Development, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering background
- Hands-on experience with installing, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical equipment – ideally in the electric mobility space
- Self-motivated critical thinker with a desire to learn

Bonus points
- Strong background in network technology or experience with network troubleshooting
- Professional experience with integrating OCPP chargers (Open Charge Point Protocol)
- Python or experience with similar programming language
- Experience managing a lab
