What are the responsibilities and job description for the Canvasser 2 position at The Mobilization Center?
Canvasser 2 will work with the Mobilization Center Program Director and Chief Operating Officer to interact with Alaskans on key conservation, human rights and government and democracy issues facing Alaskans and maintain relationships with action takers to sustain support.
Our goal is to identify and activate Alaskan voters on various campaigns that protect the resources that sustain our cultures and way of life and maintain the health and wellbeing of the greater community.
Canvasser 2 is set at a $30/HR Door rate and a $25/HR Phone rate
General Duties:
- Knock doors and make phone calls to identify and engage voters to take action on key issues affecting Alaska’s resources, the health and wellbeing of fellow Alaskans, and engage with election, legislative and/ or candidate support
- Engage with the public through street, door, and phone canvassing for a majority of your work schedule
- Staff events and mobilize volunteers to support applicable issues and candidates
- Encouraging active public involvement in advocacy campaigns and candidate support campaigns
- Record accurate data, and work with your supervisor and your teammates to ensure quality data is being recorded
- Comply with procedures and policies outlined by The Mobilization Center Employee Manual and The Mobilization Center Employee Handbook
- Ensure that confidentiality is respected and maintained at all times.
- Perform any other duty as directed by the Mobilization Center Chief Operating Officer and Program Director
