What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dispatcher Trainee position at The Mohegan Tribe of Indians Of Connecticut?
Summary of Job Description:
Under the direction of the Lead Dispatcher or designee, monitors emergency alarms, answers emergency telephone calls and dispatches Fire, Medical, Police, and Security personnel, as appropriate.
Minimum Requirements: Working knowledge of radios, computers and all other communications equipment
- Ability to type accurately
- Ability to understand oral and written instruction
- Ability to remain calm, use good judgment, and take decisive action during emergencies
- Ability to acquire working knowledge of fire, medical and police procedures and terminology
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Six (6) months experience as a Protective Services Specialist, Monitor Room Officer, or Surveillance Officer preferred.
- Successful completion of the State of Connecticut Telecommunications’ Training Course within one (1) year of employment
- Selected candidate must successfully complete a background check and continue to be eligible for employment in accordance with Federal & State of CT Criminal Justice Agency’s personnel security requirements for individuals with access to Criminal Justice Information.
