We are seeking a JavaScript IT Business Analyst on a contract basis to support our customer's business needs. This role is hybrid in Pleasanton, CA.
The JavaScript IT Business Analyst works together with the Business Technology Lead to support the creation and maintenance of custom or off-the-shelf technology solutions for Clinical Development and Medical Affairs (CDMA) organization. These solutions directly or indirectly support the management, set-up, conduct, analysis and/or reporting of Clinical Trials. He/ She liaisons with internal and external stakeholders to work on new and/or existing e-Solutions, with the intention to solve complex business problems, streamline and automate clinical trial processes and drive decision making through the use of technology.

He/ She liaisons with internal and external stakeholders to work on new and/or existing e-Solutions, with the intention to solve complex business problems, streamline and automate clinical trial processes and drive decision making through the use of technology.
Responsibilities
- Support the creation and/or maintenance of custom or off-the-shelf e-Solutions to meet CDMA’s technology needs.
- Collect and analyze requirements for the e-Solution required from stakeholders.
- Utilize agile methodologies to develop software.
- Verify user expectations are met by guiding them through User Acceptance Testing.
- Focus on boosting productivity across CDMA by working together with internal and external stakeholders on automation.
- Assess impact of changes in business processes on the applicable e-Solution or vice versa.
- Clearly and effectively communicate e-Solution modifications, changed processes and problem solving results to affected groups and leadership.
- Leverage technical/business expertise to thoroughly investigate reported incidents that involve e-Solutions’ abnormalities, failures or defects. Recommends technical and procedural improvements to ensure effective use of e-Solution.
- Collaborate with Business Insights and Application Leads to ensure the custom or off-the-shelf solutions and/or associated data can be aggregated with the existing e-Solutions’ data.
- Promptly respond to urgent technical issues regarding system failures and escalate as necessary.
- Create, maintain and/or obtain necessary training guides, documents and user manuals for reference and use of CDMA/Clinical Operations employees.
- Train and support CDMA/Clinical Operations employees in technical use and troubleshooting of the e-Solution, reports and monitoring activities.
- Work towards maintaining the quality of data stored in the assigned e-Solution(s).
- BS/BA degree or equivalent industry experience
- 3-5 years of business/ system analysis/ analytical experience
- 2 years or more experience in the following technology stack: Web technologies such as HTTP, REST, AJAX, JSON, JavaScript / jQuery, CSS / SCSS
- Frontend frameworks like React, Angular. Git
- Comprehensive experience analyzing and solving business situations
- Experience presenting information to diverse audiences including senior leadership
- Experience with Diagnostics and/or Pharmaceutical Information Systems is a plus
- Relevant IT experience, preferably as an IT, Business or System Analyst or equivalent is a plus
- Experience supporting Clinical Trial related applications is preferred
- Project Management
- Excellent organizational, communication, and demonstrated expert data management skills including working knowledge of cross-functional areas
- Comprehensive understanding of clinical development process is a plus
- Must be detail oriented
