Ropers Majeski’s growing and dynamic litigation practice has an opportunity for a Legal Secretary/Assistant with a minimum of five years of experience to join our Las Vegas office. The position is full-time in the office.

Responsibilities
- Assist with calendaring and filing documents with State and Federal courts
- Manage attorney calendars, including scheduling appointments, depositions, and hearing dates, and providing attorneys with ample lead time to ensure all deadlines are met timely
- Preparing pleadings, discovery requests and responses, summaries, indices for medical records, motions, subpoenas, and trial-related documents, and analyzing medical billing records
- Minimum of five years of experience in civil litigation practice and procedure in both the State of Nevada and Federal courts
- Experience with construction litigation, premises liability, real estate, and/or personal injury cases is strongly preferred but not required
- Ability to work on and prioritize a variety of assignments for several attorneys contemporaneously, strong time management and project management skills, including the ability to adhere to strict project deadlines while being flexible in response to changes and delays with attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions
- Excellent writing and proofreading skills
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- The ability to work independently and efficiently, meet deadlines, and integrate into a fast-paced environment
- Take a proactive approach to any assigned task and eagerness to learn from your peers; and a willingness to work as a team player in our team-oriented environment
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and document management systems (NetDocuments is a plus)
- Experience with timekeeping and billable tasks
- Proficient in technology to support electronic and virtual discovery, motion practice, and trial work.
- Prior law firm experience is required
- Paralegal certification is a plus
- Base salary range for this position is $65,000 to $78,000, commensurate with experience
