Location : Hybrid Schedule, Chicago, IL
1099 Temp to Perm Contract: 3-6 month contract to hire
Hourly Rate Range: $33/hr - $40/hr
Full-Time: 40hrs/wk
Our client has an immediate need for a paralegal, experience in family law/domestic relations preferred but not required. This is full-time contract to start with the ability to evolve into a permanent, long-term engagement based on performance. There is potential for this role to be hybrid, 3 days in office and 2 days wfh, once training and onboarding is complete.
Duties will include:
Discovery – preparing discovery requests, organizing, and drafting discovery responses, and review and inventory of discovery from opposing parties.
Administrative tasks include: scheduling/calendaring, emailing (courts, counsels, clients), e-filing, billing, communications with clients and opposing counsels, office filing, etc.
Knowledge/ability to draft notices, certificates of service, and basic pleadings.
Ideal candidate must be a self-starter who can review information and efficiently draft and turn around work product.
Experience with e-filing is preferred.
Qualifications/Skills
Certificate of completion from an ABA-approved paralegal certification program.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe.
Familiarity with Cook, Will, and DuPage County courts is preferred.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Extremely detail oriented.
Knowledge of Clio software is a plus.
Interpersonal and client facing experience is a must.
Must be able to effectively multi-task, manage time sensitive projects and deadlines, and have exceptional organizational skills.
