Key Responsibilities- Develop & Maintain Applications: Analyze, design, and maintain high-complexity applications, including coding, testing, and documentation in compliance with company development standards.
- Adhere to Best Practices: Ensure strict compliance with documentation, development methodologies, testing, and other technical processes.
- Stay Ahead of Technology Trends: Conduct research and maintain expertise in system software/hardware to optimize operations and implementations.
- Provide Support & Troubleshooting: Offer 24/7 support for production systems, diagnose system issues, and collaborate with technical, business, and system personnel to resolve problems.
- Technical Leadership: Guide and mentor development staff and consultants on technical matters and best practices.
- System Design & Integration: Create functional designs for core system components, define system objectives, and execute complex technology configurations to meet business requirements.
- Enhance Business Processes: Partner with business units to identify and implement process improvements.
- Project Management: Develop and maintain project plans for complex systems while ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.
- Application Administration: Manage daily operations of production applications and facilitate regular communication between business and IT teams.
- Testing & Quality Assurance: Prepare test data, develop test plans, conduct system testing, debug applications, and provide guidance on problem resolution.
- Special Projects: Lead or contribute to systems-related special projects as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, or a related field, plus five years of relevant experience OR
- Master's degree in a related field, plus three years of relevant experience
- Technical Expertise:
- Five years of experience with Informatica, SQL, and database technologies
- Strong knowledge of data handling methods, development techniques, and programming languages
- Experience in insurance or finance data processing is preferred
- Soft Skills:
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide technical guidance
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Other Requirements:
- Ability to work from our West Des Moines, Iowa office
- Must have reasonably regular and predictable attendance
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
