Sr. Data Developer

Are you an experienced data professional with a strong background in developing and maintaining data pipelines? • Develop & Maintain Applications: Analyze, design, and maintain high-complexity applications, including coding, testing, and documentation in compliance with company development standards.
• Adhere to Best Practices: Ensure strict compliance with documentation, development methodologies, testing, and other technical processes.
• Stay Ahead of Technology Trends: Conduct research and maintain expertise in system software/hardware to optimize operations and implementations.
• Provide Support & Troubleshooting: Offer 24/7 support for production systems, diagnose system issues, and collaborate with technical, business, and system personnel to resolve problems.
• Technical Leadership: Guide and mentor development staff and consultants on technical matters and best practices.
• System Design & Integration: Create functional designs for core system components, define system objectives, and execute complex technology configurations to meet business requirements.
• Enhance Business Processes: Partner with business units to identify and implement process improvements.
• Project Management: Develop and maintain project plans for complex systems while ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.
• Application Administration: Manage daily operations of production applications and facilitate regular communication between business and IT teams.
• Testing & Quality Assurance: Prepare test data, develop test plans, conduct system testing, debug applications, and provide guidance on problem resolution.
• Special Projects: Lead or contribute to systems-related special projects as needed.

• Education & Experience:
  
  
  
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, or a related field, plus five years of relevant experience OR
  • Master's degree in a related field, plus three years of relevant experience
  
  
• Technical Expertise:
  
  
  
  • Five years of experience with Informatica, SQL, and database technologies
  • Strong knowledge of data handling methods, development techniques, and programming languages
  • Experience in insurance or finance data processing is preferred

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide technical guidance

  • Ability to work from our West Des Moines, Iowa office
  • Must have reasonably regular and predictable attendance
