What are the responsibilities and job description for the Test Technician position at The Montague Company?
- Communicate with Engineers to detail the requirements of the project, as well as plan, consolidate, and prepare for the necessary steps to complete the project.
- Create layouts & drawings for test setups that provide the required information during the planning phase of each project and check that all calculations are accurate.
- Run the necessary tests & measurements regarding dimensions and component specifications for each project.
- Record and analyze data to verify consistency, and to make changes as needed to reach each benchmark on the project.
- Draft routine reports and correspondence.
- Perform regular quality control checks to ensure that each component or test equipment of the project adheres to the high standards of testing.
- Develop innovative ideas/processes or revise current practices for a more efficient operation.
- Maintains testing lab equipment & assists in the regulatory compliance, certification, and calibration processes.
- Coordinate with staff members in other departments as needed.
- Reads and understands documents such as policy manuals, safety rules and operating instructions.
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5years of experience in an engineering environment.
- Excellent problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and related software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Ability to work independently and to conduct assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
Preferred:
- Associate’s degree in engineering, engineering technology or related field.
- Previous experience with testing/troubleshooting of Gas & Electric Cooking/Refrigeration appliances.
- Experience working with A3 refrigerants to assist with technology transition & comply with latest UL standards.
- Acquired skills working in a Thermal Chamber with Data Acquisition, Thermocouples, Gauges & other test equipment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $33.65 - $38.46 per hour
