What are the responsibilities and job description for the Montessori Preschool Lead Guide position at The Montessori House?
We are interviewing for a Montessori guide to lead a Preschool For All classroom for 3-5 year olds beginning in the fall. Our ideal candidate would spend two to four weeks with our current guide with us over the summer in preparation for the new school year.
Responsibilities:
- Create and implement a developmentally appropriate Montessori curriculum for preschoolers
- Foster a positive and nurturing learning environment for children
- Plan and lead engaging activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
- Observe and assess children's progress and provide feedback to parents/guardians
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive learning experience
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding their child's progress and any concerns
- Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions as required
Experience:
- Previous experience working in a Montessori or early childhood education setting
- Strong knowledge of Montessori philosophy and practices
- Experience working with children in a classroom setting
- Familiarity with curriculum development and lesson planning
- Ability to effectively communicate with children, parents/guardians, and colleagues
- Knowledge of child development principles and early intervention strategies
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (preferred)
- Montessori Primary Credential
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain certification)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all children
- Patience, flexibility, and the ability to adapt to the needs of individual children
