Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Teach multiple sections of Middle School English with a primary focus on 8th grade.
- Effectively integrate educational technology (including iPads) appropriately into the curriculum including managing a LMS
- Create and design lessons, instruction, and assessments
- Serve as a Middle School advisor
- Work closely and effectively with members of the English department to ensure that the curriculum flows smoothly
- Communicate with parents proactively, positively and professionally to support the academic, social-emotional, and physical needs of students
- Engage in continued professional development
- Integrate the language of leadership and character development into the classroom
- Perform other duties to support the division and/or school as a whole. The capacity to contribute in other areas is a valuable consideration.
- Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate field; advanced degree preferred
- Teaching experience in English preferred
- Strong background in the teaching of writing and literature
- Creative, enthusiastic and growth-mindset approach to learning
- Experience in the use of educational technology
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Genuine concern for students and their learning success
- Collaborative approach to working with other faculty members
