Job Title: Assistant Principal High School
The Monticello Central School District seeks an experienced and qualified individual to fill the position of Assistant Principal at our high school. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership skills, effective communication abilities, and a passion for education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the principal in the administration and supervision of the high school, ensuring compliance with district policies and procedures.
- Participate in school corporation planning and decision-making, representing the best educational interests of the high school programs and the school corporation as a whole.
- Implement evaluation and supervision systems for instruction, including observation, report preparation, conferencing, and instructional leadership.
- Evaluate and supervise the work of high school teachers and support staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Develop and maintain effective student record systems, including attendance, grade reporting, and discipline.
- Develop and/or maintain effective building and corporation safety, emergency, and disaster procedures.
- Recruit, screen, interview, recommend, orient, and supervise certified teaching staff and non-certified support staff.
- Maintain adherence to all applicable Federal and State regulations and laws.
- Develop and maintain an effective school/community relations program.
- Supervise student conduct and enforce discipline, providing due process for student rights.
- Administer the student attendance policy.
- Serve as liaison between visitors and school personnel, maintaining security.
- Attend and participate in Board of Education and committee meetings, as directed.
- Participate actively in professional growth activities.
- Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as assigned by the principal.

Requirements:
- Current and appropriate New York State administrative certification (SBL, SDA, SDL).
- 1 year of previous administrative leadership experience preferred.
- 2 years experience as a classroom teacher.
Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience.
