Description:

  • Meet program goals and objectives and those of related grants within the licensure requirements of the Texas Department of State Health Services and standards of care of the Ryan White Planning Council.
  • Coordinate services funded by DSHSSAS, RWCD and SAMHSA. Organize program priorities. Verify client eligibility for program services and track utilization. When new funded activity becomes available, convene stakeholders and manage setup and implementation.
  • Exhibit understanding of contract requirements (outcomes, training, competencies) for the program and related grants.
  • Supervise program staff within the program and agency by evaluating performance as outlined in the Personnel Policies and job descriptions, by providing guidance and support for cases as required by licensing but no less than a bi-weekly basis. Communicate, interpret and enforce program and administrative policies with supervisees at orientation and as new policies are developed. Communicate any staff concerns regarding policies and procedures to the Management Team in the weekly meeting.
  • Conduct psychosocial intake and assessments including a diagnosis according to the current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, a diagnostic summary, treatment recommendations, referrals and preliminary discharge plans. Conduct treatment planning with the participation of the client. Provide psychotherapy and counseling to achieve the objectives and goals in the treatment plan using generally recognized psychotherapy models and theories. Conduct periodic treatment plan reviews with the client. Keep timely and comprehensive progress notes. Conduct discharge planning with the participation of the client and complete a final discharge plan and discharge summary and give a final outcomes measurements at the time of termination of therapy.
  • Carry the supervisors’ cell phone as scheduled and act as back-up for crises in clinical services
  • Lead the Center's Sexual Health in Recovery Programming
  • Understanding of the role of clinical and non-clinical pathways of recovery, including various clinical treatment modalities, recovery pathways, and peer services


Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited graduate program in Social Work, Psychology, Educational Psychology or equivalent degree that provides the capacity for the employee to be licensed as an LMSW or LPC. Four (4) years’ experience working with clients with substance use disorders with at least one (1) year of that experience being with the program’s target population(s) of which an internship or field placement may be applied. Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) licensure required. Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor certification preferred.
  • Recovery Coaching Certification preferred; or willingness to complete Recovery Coaching training within 6 months of hire.
  • Peer Specialist Supervisor (PSS) certification preferred; or willingness to complete PSS training within 12 months of hire.
  • If in recovery, no less than four (4) years substance free.
  • Access to reliable transportation, a current Texas Driver’s License and auto insurance.
