What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adjunct Faculty - Graduate (Plymouth) position at The Moody Bible Institute?
Provide instruction in assigned class(es) in accordance with applicable administrative policies and procedures, established instructional models, and course syllabus/syllabi as established by the Moody Bible Institute. Implement appropriate strategies to assist students to achieve their academic potential and provide superior student service.
Essential Functions

- Instruct students in assigned class(es)
- Manage classroom environment to create an effective learning environment
- Facilitate students through interpersonal interactions in online discussions, face-to-face settings, and/or by telephone or other electronic media in achieving course objectives
- Participate in required Moody Theological Seminary training and professional development programs and maintain expertise in subject area
- Motivate students to actively participate in the educational process, including but not limited to class discussions, discussion threads, outside assignments, research, enrichment activities, etc.
- Respond promptly (within same day or 24 hours) when returning telephone calls and replying to correspondence, emails, instant messages, and faxes.
- Grade student assignments within 1 week of submission.
- Maintain and enforce proper decorum, online and otherwise, to effect a positive learning environment.
- Collaborate with appropriate staff to produce learning experiences that will enhance student achievement.
- Participate in course review processes by recommending improvements in course design
- Motivate students to persist in the program by monitoring student participation and contacting students who fall behind
Minimum Requirements
- Master’s Degree from an accredited institution required.
- Expertise in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, as well as web search engines, and other instructionally related applications.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and/or oral) demonstrating collegiality and encouragement to students and colleagues
- Knowledge of school policies and procedures.
- Ability to plan and organize work.
- A growing and deepening Christian faith and a commitment to advancing the cause of Christ
- Agreement with the Moody Bible Institute’s doctrinal statement
- Adhere to the employee standards established by the Moody Bible Institute
- Satisfactory completion of Moody Theological Seminary’s adjunct faculty training program
- Able to work in the US legally without sponsorship
Preferred Requirements
- A doctoral degree (or ABD) in the vetting areas preferred.
- Demonstrated teaching experience in traditional and non-traditional venues preferred.

This job operates in an office/classroom environment located in Plymouth, Michigan. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
