What are the responsibilities and job description for the BI Market Data Analyst position at The Moody Bible Institute?
The Business Intelligence Data Analyst will provide data analytics and reporting functions related to enrollment trends and market research among Moody’s core constituents (students, alumni, parents, donors, readers, listeners, competitors, etc.). This role is responsible for the reporting of Moody’s overall market and competitive intelligence and strategy in close partnership with key stakeholders. The incumbent will implement best-practices for reporting and analytics of primary market research and integrating (where applicable) secondary research data. In addition, he or she will have strong data literacy with regard to data management & data organization, data tables, and business intelligence reporting functions.
Essential Functions

- Manage & report data from across the organization to explore strategic questions posed by the leadership team.
- Develop and maintain dashboards (primarily in Power BI) regarding enrollment trends, and other key indicators of health and success for Biblical Higher Education.
- Manage and collaborate with accreditors, administrators, ranking services, and governmental bodies, to ensure all higher education data reporting requirements are met.
- Collaborate with the teams responsible for building and managing the data warehouse and ETL processes, visualization technologies, and business requirement gathering.
- Assist and collaborate with faculty for reporting of course evaluations.
- Build upon existing data processes and plans to implement long-term organizational data roadmap.
- Achieve a thorough understanding of Moody’s customers across its various ministries (i.e., Students/Parents, Alumni, Donors, Radio Listeners, Book Readers, etc.).
- Develop new hypotheses using data-driven connections to provide insights and recommendations that impact any and all functions to drive mission growth.
- Build relationships across the Institute to gain perspective beyond what the data says and adopt tactics readily accepted by other stakeholders in our unique organization.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences, data management, math, business administration, or a related field.
- Over three years of Business Intelligence experience.
- Experience with query languages (SQL) and familiarity with Power BI.
- Experience with educational enrollment data and reporting is a plus.
- Proven analytical and quantitative skills with a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
- Strong work ethic and organizational skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Able to work in the US legally without sponsorship.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with databases/database management
- Data Warehousing experience
- Experience with data visualization and data table tools (like Tableau or other related tools)
- Dashboards/Power BI competency

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This is a full-time position that is regularly scheduled to work 38.75 hours a week, however, there may be times when longer hours are expected. This position requires that the employee work from Moody’s Chicago offices at least two times a week.
Minimal travel is expected for this position.
