Job Summary: The Resource Connection Center Specialist will be responsible for conducting an intake with each new participant to assess the client’s non-legal needs, including housing, case management, Recovery services, employment, family reunification services, transportation, communication technology support, and education. This position would focus on recovery services and making sure that the center is functioning as well as supporting populations served within TMWG.

Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Provides peer recovery support services to participants enrolled in substance use disorder (SUD) and/or mental health services.
- Encourages participant engagement and self-management to promote wellness and recovery.
- Educates and equips participants with tools or strategies to more effectively cope, problem solve and manage their behavioral health needs.
- Assists the participants in identifying and building on their strengths and resiliencies.
- Attends assigned training, required staff meetings, and be responsible for continuing education and professional development as part of a commitment to provide quality services.
- Provides ongoing recovery support guidance in such areas as housing, vocational training, employment and other relevant community services.
- Maintains participants confidentiality in accordance with agency policy and procedures and Federal laws.
- Encourages participants to develop independent behavior that is based on choice rather than compliance.
- Demonstrate consistency by supporting participants during ordinary and extraordinary times.
- Teaching and Training in classes and workshops that will be offered
- Creating and maintaining schedules of the Recovery Services.
- Maintains food needed for participants.
- Promotes resiliency and recovery as defined by each participant.
- Models skills in recovery and self- management.
- Assists participants with connecting with the community.
- Coordinates mentor contact and instruction to those who have been formerly incarcerated, or have a history of addiction, or needing support.
- Assists participants in accessing a variety of resources to address their needs.
- Creates a service plan for the participants, with a focus on appropriate resources.
- Connects the participants to identified community providers and determine the appropriate referral pathways.
- Assist participants with resources that are within their scope of practice.
- Conducts employment training sessions with individuals who have been formerly incarcerated, or have a history of addiction.
- Collaborates with service providers throughout the state to establish and maintain relationships and referrals.
- Creates and maintains a system to track referrals and program outcomes.
- Completes all reporting requirements necessary for the program.
- Develops a file documentation system for those individuals enrolled with the program.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/ Abilities:
- Demonstrate ‘lived experience’ of being in recovery or have had a family member in recovery and be willing to disclose.
- Ability to work effectively with clients, families, staff and community contacts from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
- Ability to deal effectively with children/youth with behavioral, emotional and/or mental health challenges and their families.
- Ability to accept supervision and perform as part of a team.
- Desire to work collaboratively with the ability to work independently.
- Strong drive and initiative with the ability to manage time well in an environment of many concurrent assignments and deadlines.
- Accurate and detail-oriented.
- Knowledge of software programs including Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and the desire to learn and develop skills within other software programs.
- Ability to organize electronic files and email efficiently so that information is consistently saved in locations that are easy for staff to access.
- Ability to use case management and electronic file storage systems to take case notes, chart referrals, and save case management information.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Demonstrated cultural competence and sensitivity in working with diverse clients, communities, and colleagues.
- Peer Certification or ability to acquire within six (6) months of hire.
- Bilingual preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Salary : $21 - $26
