Moorings Park is looking for an Administrator of our Skilled Nursing Facility. The Administrator is responsible for overseeing the operations of The Chateau Skilled Nursing Facility. This role ensures that the facility operates in compliance with both federal and state healthcare regulations, maintains high-quality care for residents, and manages resources effectively.
Contributions:
Compliance and Regulations
- Ensure the facility meets all local, state, and federal regulations, including licensing and safety requirements.
- Implement policies and procedures to comply with healthcare laws and standards, including Medicare compliance with regulations and billing.
- Maintain records and documentation for state inspections, audits, and accreditation.
- Respond to regulatory bodies, audits, and compliance checks, addressing any concerns or violations.
Leadership and Management:
- Lead and manage daily operations of the nursing home to ensure efficient and effective services.
- Ensure staffing levels are adequate and that staff are well-trained, engaged, and performing their duties effectively.
Resident Care and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that residents receive high-quality care, including medical, social, and emotional support.
- Implement the "Best Friends" approach as the strategy for delivering care to residents and patients.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals (doctors, nurses, therapists) to coordinate patient care plans.
- Ensure that residents' needs are being met in accordance with their care plans.
- Oversee quality assurance programs to monitor patient care and improve outcomes.
- Implement measures to improve patient satisfaction and reduce complaints or incidents.
- Develop strategies to improve facility ratings in the Medicare/Medicaid system.
Financial Management:
- Develop and manage budgets for the facility, ensuring financial stability; maintaining budgeted census.
- Oversee billing, accounting, and payment systems for residents and insurers.
- Monitor and control expenditures, implementing cost-effective solutions when necessary.
- Ensure that the facility remains within budgetary limits while still delivering the highest quality of care.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records for patient care, staff performance, and financial data.
- Prepare reports for Medicare, state agencies, and internal stakeholders regarding facility performance and compliance.
Staffing:
- Recruit, hire, and retain qualified staff, including nurses, caregivers, and administrative personnel.
- Be an ambassador of our inclusive culture, ensuring every employee guest feels welcomed, valued, and respected by delivering exceptional hospitality.
- Ensure staff training programs are in place to comply with healthcare industry standards.
- Resolve staff issues, mediate conflicts, and foster a positive work environment.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to staff.
Public Relations and Community Involvement:
- Act as the primary point of contact for families, residents, and the community.
- Promote the facility’s services to the community and build relationships with local organizations, healthcare providers, and government agencies.
- Represent the nursing home at meetings, conferences, and in public forums.
Health and Safety:
- Ensure proper healthcare protocols are followed to maintain a safe environment for both residents and staff.
- Address any emergency situations, including natural disasters, accidents, or health-related crises.
- Oversee infection control measures, especially during flu season or any outbreaks.
Strategic Planning:
- Develop long-term strategic goals for the facility.
- Ensure that facility services are continuously evolving to meet patient needs, Medicare requirements, and industry trends.
Job Requirements:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language required
- During emergencies or natural disasters may be required to be on duty for the duration of the disaster.
- A Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing Home Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree preferred.
- Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) license required for State of Florida.
- 3–5 years of experience in a healthcare facility, including experience in nursing home management or healthcare administration.
- Proven experience managing budgets, staff, and operations in a healthcare setting.
