What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeping Manager position at The Moorings Park Institute Incorporated?
Moorings Park is looking for a Housekeeping Manager. The Housekeeping Manager directs the overall operation of the housekeeping department serving the skilled nursing, assisted living facility and/or other facilities within the organization in accordance with current applicable Federal, State, and local requirements. The Housekeeping Manager ensures the highest degree of cleanliness and sanitation is always maintained.
Contributions:
- Responsible for day-to-day management of housekeeping staff.
- Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and conduct.
- Manage the daily activities of the housekeeping department to include appropriate cleaning of all living areas, offices, and public areas to include exterior areas.
- Provides input to operational and capital budget for Environmental Services.
- Oversees event set-up for various functions and meetings.
- Assists in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures to assure the premises, equipment and facilities are clean, orderly, and attractive at all times.
- Develops and maintains a good working rapport with personnel and with other departments to assure housekeeping and laundry programs are planned and maintained to meet the needs of the facility.
- Assures the facility is maintained in a clean and safe manner for resident comfort and convenience through quality assurance inspections.
- Schedules personnel and work assignments within budgeted guidelines.
- Assists in determining departmental staffing, completes employee performance evaluations and makes recommendations regarding wage adjustments, hiring, terminations and transfers.
- Schedule and train all new housekeeping staff members.
- Requisitions, controls, and maintains an adequate level of supplies.
- Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintains knowledge of and follows all company policies and procedures.
- Obtain knowledge and demonstrate the principles of Moorings Park, person directed care and successful aging philosophies and their inherent core values of commitment, respect, compassion, dedication, teamwork, and quality. Team members will support, actively participate, and act in accordance with the principles of the Moorings Park service culture and be familiar with and fluent in the language and service pillars of Moorings.
Job Requirements:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language required
- During emergencies or natural disasters may be required to be on duty for the duration of the disaster.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years’ experience as a housekeeping supervisor required, preferably in a health-related facility.
