What are the responsibilities and job description for the Occupational Therapist Assistant - Certified position at The Moorings Park Institute Incorporated?
Moorings Park is looking for a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant. The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) provides occupational therapy services to residents under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist (OT). The COTA carries out the treatment plan delineated by the OTH and assists the OTR in resident treatment and carries out departmental duties as assigned. The COTA may perform screenings at the discretion of the supervising OTR.
Contributions:
- Provides resident treatments as specified by the OTR in the treatment plan.
- Assists the OTR in the provision of direct resident treatment.
- Completes appropriate documentation in a timely manner
- Participates in staff meetings, in-service education and other meetings as assigned.
- Communicates with physicians, families, and rehabilitation staff members regarding resident status reports as appropriate.
- Assists the OTR in the scheduling of residents and other clerical duties.
- Substitute for absent therapists according to the discretion of the OT Director.
- Participates in supervision of Occupational Therapy Aides and volunteers.
- Performs rehabilitation screenings at the discretion of the OTR.
Job Requirements:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language required
- During emergencies or natural disasters may be required to be on duty for the duration of the disaster.
Graduate of an accredited school for Occupational Therapy.
Current registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association.
Current Florida license of licensure eligible.
CPR certification preferred.
