What are the responsibilities and job description for the Speech Language Pathologist position at The Moorings Park Institute Incorporated?
Are you an On Call Speech Therapist looking to join an organization that values culture and continuous improvement? At Moorings Park, we are looking for a on call Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for providing diagnosis, treatment, and consultation to individuals experiencing communication and swallowing disorders.
Contributions:
- Screens residents for potential speech, language, voice, fluency, swallowing, and hearing difficulties.
- Evaluates and diagnosis speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing difficulties. Analyzes and synthesizes all available information (case history, behavioral observations, and objective test data). Makes prognostic statement considering resident assets and liabilities in the context of overall behavior and environment.
- Creates treatment-planning accordance with a physician, if the resident is referred by a physician, to minimize the problems identified. Generates goals consistent with diagnosis, prognosis, and/or presenting problem. Goals are comprehensive, measurable, and sequenced appropriately.
- Establishes functional maintenance program and discharge plans (in accordance with physician if resident is physician-referred).
- Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintains knowledge of and follows all company policies and procedures.
- Obtain knowledge and demonstrate the principles of Moorings Park, person directed care and successful aging philosophies and their inherent core values of commitment, respect, compassion, dedication, teamwork, and quality. Team member will support, actively participate, and act in accordance with the principles of the Moorings Park service culture and be familiar with and fluent in the language and service pillars of Moorings.
Requirements:
- A Master’s Degree in Speech/Language Pathology
- ASHA certification and State licensure to practice speech/language pathology.
- Meets CEV and HIV licensure requirements.
- Prefer 1 year of relevant experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language required
