What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Managing Editor position at The Morning Times?
The Morning Times and Daily Review are looking for an experienced newspaper journalist to serve as its associate managing editor.
The news editor will be responsible for managing the operations of both The Morning Times and Daily Review during the night shift, typically working from 2 to 10:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Most weekends will be off, though occasional assignments may be required on Saturdays or Sundays.
The typical daily workflow will involve proofreading stories submitted by reporters from both properties, posting stories to social media to increase engagement, writing stories and columns, and designing newspaper pages for The Morning Times through Adobe inDesign. Strong management skills are required.
Strong candidates will have a solid news sense with a strong drive to produce hard-hitting, local content that grabs eyes and brings clarity to issues in the local community. Strong candidates will also understand the importance of best digital journalism practices. The associate managing editor will work directly with the managing editor to ensure the newspaper reaches its content-related goals.

Pay: $38,000.00 - $43,500.00 per year
