You are not required to report into a Mosaic office; however, there is significant travel to client locations across North America required for this role.
Geographic flexibility : This position is open to candidates residing anywhere in the US, but we have preference in Pacific Standard Time Zone.

Position Overview

The Grid Operations Industry Expert supports advanced training for Electric System Operations. The position is involved in front-end analysis, reviewing and consulting on as-is job responsibilities, ensuring on-the-job performance, designing work processes, and developing recommendations to improve performance through training. The position supports the design and development of training and evaluations for customers alongside Instructional Designers. The Grid Operations Industry Expert works in an advisory role for our customers and internal team members to provide Grid Operations expertise and related business process and industry domain knowledge to support projects in collaboration with our clients.

Roles and Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Grid Operations, Industry Expert role are as follows :

General

Works with Operations leaders to define / address personnel knowledge and skill gaps.

Leverages Distribution Operations expertise and experience to develop role-based job / task analysis deliverables for Electric Distribution Operations job positions.

Provides industry expertise for the creation of future state "To Be" business process and derives the associated business outcomes.

Evaluates training materials and training effectiveness to ensure end-user needs are met, including upkeep of training database tracking end-user performance.

Promotes training / line partnership by developing a professional rapport with customers.

Content Development

Works with customers to derive training requirements related to Distribution Operations job processes.

Partners with Instructional Design Consultants to design and develop training materials and continuing education for Operations job roles, using a variety of instructional media.

Supports customers training team to ensure that training requirements are met.

Training Delivery

Collaborates with team members and subject matter experts on training delivery to ensure that training requirements are met.

Delivers lectures, group discussions, practice activities, and assessments in support of course objectives.

Partners with Instructional Design team to build scenarios for computer-based practice activities and generate related data to populate the online learning environment.

To respond to client and project needs effectively, roles and responsibilities will vary and may include additional responsibilities not listed.

Skills and Experience

Experience as a System Operator, Dispatcher for electric transmission and / or distribution (e.g., electrical, generator, or grid operations training experience; system operating experience in an energy control center, or electrical generator operator experience).

Experience presenting electrical or operations training, experience creating simulation scenarios.

Experience with ABB, OSI, GE, or Schneider Electric systems and tools.

Excellent organizational skills with an ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

Demonstrated decision-making ability in production deadline-driven environment.

Demonstrated ability to interact professionally with diverse groups on a wide range of technical matters.

Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills.

Working Relationships

Internal : Collaborates with team members for skill-sharing and problem-solving.

External : Develops trustworthy relationships with client and project stakeholders. Works independently in and navigates effectively through ambiguous and political client environments.

The compensation range considers a wide range of factors that are considered in making hiring and compensation decisions. These factors include, but are not limited to candidate skill set, consulting experience, training and education, competencies, and other business and organizational needs. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Mosaic strives to set salaries at, or near the 50th percentile (midpoint) of the range and it is not typical for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the range for the position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $150,000.00 to $190,000.00. This position is eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus program of up to 8% of annual compensation. The bonus program is dependent on a variety of factors including organizational and individual performance.
