Job Description :
Perform EEG procedures and recordings independently or under supervision.
Summarize patient status and clinical history.
Participate in conferences and technical meetings as required.
Conduct all types of EEG recordings, including awake, asleep, bedside, and video EEGs for B.D. protocol.
Summarize the patient's neurologic status and clinical history from the chart or other knowledgeable persons.
Explain recording procedures in detail to the patient and family members present.
Review patient charts for the use of anticonvulsive medications and consult family or caregiver.
Adapt methods and instrumentation to keep the patient calm and comfortable during testing for optimal results.
Remove residue from the patient's scalp, dry, and comb the patient's hair post-procedure.
Document clinical observations during seizures and other patient emergency situations.
Log and record complete patient diagnoses, technician reports, and ensure records are available in the reading room.
Ensure electrical safety of the patient at all times, perform maintenance, and report major equipment malfunctions.
Maintain cleanliness of the EEG room, clean equipment, and secure paste containers after each use.
Engage in conferences, technical meetings, and other educational activities when possible.
Perform other duties as requested.
