Wurzak Hotel Group is looking for a Director of Sales of the new 163-room MOXY in downtown St. Pete. This individual will be at the helm along with the GM in the opening of newest jewel in an award-winning portfolio of lifestyle hotels & rooftop bars located in one of the country’s best cities to hang out. The Moxy boast 7 stories of indoor and outdoor spaces, a rooftop pool, and "Sparrow", our panoramic rooftop bar and restaurant with live entertainment and incredible beverage and food offerings. In addition, an activated open-air lobby offering a place to refuel at Roses Coffee Bar or refresh at our indoor/outdoor lobby bar serving craft libations, inviting to all.

At MOXY, we like sharing ideas, having fun, and embrace style and individuality. Focus areas for the Director of Sales will be: 

  • Keep our event spaces booked out with clients who love our gorgeous spaces as much as we do! 
  • Drive revenue and market share to meet and exceed sales goals 
  • Build relationships with our partners and local community and collaborate on community events. 
  • Attend local chamber and CVB events, and perform sales blitzes consistently 
  • Work closely with Revenue manager in identifying opportunities to maximize revenue stream potentials  
  • Ensure that our guests & clients have a fantastic experience while they plan, experience, and attend their events 
  • Stay abreast of industry trends in order to bring creative new ideas to the groups booking events at the Moxy St. Petersburg  
  • Maintain team’s contact and client management system 
  • Represent Wurzak Hotel Group at client events/meetings 
  • Fulfill additional tasks assigned by the General Manager and be willing to assist every department of the hotel {lateral service mindset} 
  • Assist in deal negotiations and ongoing account management for designated accounts 
  • Lead local ad sales partnerships and other marketing initiatives 
  • Support contractual compliance monitoring and reporting 

Education and Experience for the Director of Sales:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 
  • 5 year successful track record of sales experience in the hospitality space 
  • Proficient in all basic Microsoft Office applications  
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Solid organizational skills, detail-oriented, collaborative team player 
  • Experience with Marriott Family of Brands Required, Lifestyle and/or Moxy Preferred

  • Strong Leadership with a creative yet professional image and excellent communication skills. 
  • "Hands-on" management style and achievements that show resourcefulness, initiative, and the ability to multi-task.  
  • Passion about the local Tampa/St. Pete market and industry trends 
  • Tech-savvy skill set.  
  • Skillful in project planning and able to prioritize tasks. 
  • Proactive team player and business coach (hands-on). 
  • Ability to adapt vision and proven flexibility. 
  • Attention to details, good organizational skills, and efficient time management. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while simultaneously handling changing priorities. 

Work Environment 

  • Interior and exterior responsibilities. 
  • Extended time standing. 
  • Lifting, pushing pulling up to 25 pounds. 
  • Occasional exposure to loud noises and extreme temperatures. 
  • Use of applicable safety equipment as necessary. 
  • Occasional travel is required.
