The role of a Project Manager is pivotal in ensuring the successful execution of intricate engineering projects. Drawing upon extensive experience in product development, a strong business acumen, and proven leadership skills, the Project Manager will contribute significantly to the transformation of innovative concepts into tangible, manufacturable products. This role focuses on creating and managing comprehensive project plans encompassing mechanical, electrical, and software development, as well as product verification and validation, up to manufacturing launch. Ensuring regulatory compliance is essential, with responsibilities including adherence to company design control and quality management system (QMS) procedures. The Project Manager is entrusted with full ownership of their respective projects, wielding comprehensive authority and bearing the ultimate responsibility for both the business and technical success of the initiatives while fostering a positive team environment, serving as a source of inspiration and motivation to consistently exceed project expectations..
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop the vision and direction for each project, translating marketing ideas and creating new products.
- Establish goals and develop your engineering design teams.
- Be a leader and decision maker in our organization, driving improvement, new capabilities and growth.
- Ensure project and organization success through: providing technical leadership and direction to cross-functional project teams to include the facilitation of team meetings and communications.
- Balancing the needs of our employees and the business.
- Developing and coordinating external vendor proposals.
- Working with functional managers to staff projects with people that have the right mix of technical capabilities, knowledge and leadership skills.
- Developing, managing and communicating project schedules and financial status.
- Identifying, leading and performing activities to strengthen our organization’s performance and capabilities.
- Mentoring and developing others.
- All other essential duties as directed.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical discipline.
- 3 or more years combined in hands-on engineering product design and leadership roles.
- Detailed understanding of the product development and product realization processes.
- Familiarity with multiple design/engineering disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, embedded software and PCB.
- Excellent project management skills and knowledge of management principles.
- Ability to create effective schedules and resource estimates.
- Ability to manage teams and tasks to schedule and budget.
- Proficient in MS Office (project, word, powerpoint, excel).
- Strong organization and communication skills.
- Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- Strong team building, leadership, problem solving and decision-making skills.
