TEACHER OF MUSIC & PIANO : Private, well-established school of music located in Albany, New York, has a faculty opening for an exceptional teacher with a degree in piano or piano pedagogy. During our more than 45 years as a school, we have won recognition and numerous awards for our innovative, comprehensive, custom-designed program. Many of our students have won regional piano competitions, and performed with the Albany Symphony Orchestra, local jazz musicians, and contemporary composers.Ours is not a drop-in program for casual students. Ourcurriculum is unique and rigorous; children begin at our school-year program as early as age 4 and can continue with us, first in group classes, then in supplemented private instruction, through to high school graduation. Theyemerge deeply educated in music theory, highly skilled at the piano, and enriched by a lifelong connection to music and facility for music-making.Responsibilities include : Teaching well-structured, high-energy music fundamentals classes for children ages 3–8, with emphasis on singing, ear training, rhythm, movement, reading, keyboard, recorder, and Orff.Teaching piano lessons, both private and class, for students and adults of various skill levels.Preparing students to perform at their best in periodic recitals, evaluations, and public performances, and helping the Studio administer those events.This is a full-time, ten-month, salaried position with periodic increases. Schedule consists of afternoons, evenings, and Saturdays during the school year .
