Assistant Director of Nursing

Job Overview
The Director of Nursing (DON) is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the nursing staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care within our facility. The DON will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective care plans, maintain compliance with healthcare regulations, and uphold resident rights. This position requires a strong understanding of nursing practices, regulatory standards, and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents.

Duties

• Lead and manage the nursing department, ensuring adherence to best practices in patient care.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for residents in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
• Oversee compliance with Medicare regulations and standards related to hospice care, assisted living, and nursing home operations.
• Conduct regular assessments and audits of nursing practices to ensure quality assurance.
• Facilitate staff training and development programs to enhance nursing skills and knowledge.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of MDS (Minimum Data Set) requirements and ensure accurate documentation.
• Advocate for resident rights and ensure that all staff members are trained in respecting these rights.
• Utilize knowledge of physiology to assess patient conditions and adjust care plans as necessary.
• Collaborate with home health agencies to coordinate care transitions for residents.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Proven experience in a leadership role within a healthcare setting, preferably in hospice care or assisted living environments.
• Strong knowledge of Medicare regulations, MDS processes, and nursing home compliance standards.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively lead a diverse team.
• Familiarity with systems used for patient management and documentation.
• Compassionate approach towards patient care with a focus on enhancing resident quality of life.
• Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team while advocating for both staff and residents.

This position is essential for maintaining the highest standards of nursing care while fostering an environment that prioritizes patient well-being.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
