Location:  Based out of The NAN Project’s HQ in Lexington, with a focus on the city of Everett, but travel throughout MA.


The NAN Project, based in Lexington, MA, is a trailblazer in mental health education and suicide prevention. We empower youth by breaking stigma and fostering understanding through our peer-to-peer programming. Operating in over 80 communities statewide, our innovative model employs young adults with lived mental health experiences to share their inspiring stories of resilience, providing hope and education to middle and high school students.


As we work to provide additional mental health support and resources to communities throughout Massachusetts, especially gateway cities, we’re looking for a dynamic and compassionate Clinician to help us develop programming specifically for Spanish-speaking students and staff.


About the Role: You’ll play a pivotal role in growing our reach in Everett and surrounding communities, while enhancing the effectiveness of our programs for young people and the diverse communities that support them. Bring your clinical expertise to our educational programming for students, and help our team develop culturally relevant, Spanish-language programming to bring our message to Everett. By developing programming in languages other than English, this full-time position offers the opportunity to work closely with young adults, schools, and community organizations to foster awareness, education, and empowerment around mental health challenges and recovery.


Qualifications: Requires a Master’s degree in Social Work or Psychology, or LMHC and LICSW (or license eligible); 2-3 years of post-Master’s clinical experience working with adolescents and young adults preferred,. Excellent understanding of the mental health system and competence in crisis intervention, research and engagement strategies. Demonstrated skills in developing and presenting training curricula.  Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Training development and presentation experience. Proven ability to work as part of a team. Must be fluent in Spanish


Computer literacy and skilled in the use of computers and related software applications. Ability to consistently meet all necessary background and credentialing requirements. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from work.  Must have a reliable telephone notification system for emergency contact.


What You’ll Do:

  • Build Connections in Everett: Engage with schools, youth-serving organizations, and community groups to promote The NAN Project’s mission and programming.
  • Support Peer Mentors: Identify and train young adults with lived mental health experience to share their stories of hope and resilience.
  • Create and Review Impactful Presentations: Collaborate with Peer Mentors to ensure their personal stories will educate students, reduce stigma, and spark dialogue, and ensure these stories are trauma informed and safe for both the presenter and audience.
  • Facilitate Trainings: Lead workshops,and evidence-based suicide prevention training (e.g., QPR) after certification.
  • Organize & Manage: Maintain records, oversee event planning logistics, and implement operational tools like Monday.com.
  • Champion Inclusion: Address the intersectionality of mental health challenges and identity (e.g., race, ethnicity, sexuality, gender) in your outreach and presentations.


What We’re Looking For:


The ideal candidate is a passionate advocate for mental health, eager to connect with diverse communities and inspire young people. You thrive in dynamic environments and are committed to making a tangible difference. You also will be fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, or another language that is widely spoken in Everett and have a commitment to breaking down the stigma around mental health in a diverse array of communities.


Must-Haves:

  • Passion for work in the mental health field.
  • Licensure as an LCSW, LICSW or LMHC (or license eligible) or Master’s degree in Social Work or Psychology and experience in the mental health or peer support fields.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills (fluency in Spanish is required).
  • Proficiency with technology (Google Drive and Google Docs, Microsoft Office) and openness to learning new tools (Monday.com, Canva, MailChimp, Wordpress).
  • Valid driver’s license, access to a car, and willingness to travel 4 days a week throughout MA.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability.
  • Comfort with public speaking and engaging with diverse populations.
  • Capable of working in an ever-changing environment; ability to accommodate regular change.
