What are the responsibilities and job description for the NATIONWIDE SEARCH: FULL-TIME TRAVEL EDUCATOR/NANNY NEEDED FOR 3.5-YEAR-OLD! position at The Nanny League, Inc.?
Overview
JACKSON, WY/MIAMI, FL/NYC/TN (NATIONWIDE SEARCH)-- Loving parents seek a FULL-TIME EDUCATOR/NANNY for their 3.5-year-old son to cultivatehis love for learning through a self-directed approach. This role is ideal for a passionate, energetic educator who thrives in a dynamic environment and embraces curiosity-driven, self-directed learning. Rather than adhering to a traditional curriculum, the educator will observe and encourage the child’s interests, designing engaging experiences that spark his natural curiosity. This may include planning excursions, coordinating private lessons with subject-matter experts, or traveling to fascinating exhibits—wherever learning takes them!
The position guarantees 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday from 8/9 AM to 5 PM, though hours may vary slightly based on location and the family’s needs. The child spends time between his parents' homes in Jackson, WY, Miami, NYC, Tennessee, and the Caribbean, typically staying in each location for about a month. The family also travels internationally to Europe, Africa, and Asia, and the educator will play an integral role in helping transition the child between homes. Candidates must be comfortable navigating busy airports and new environments with a young traveler, as he is accustomed to being on the go. A private bedroom and bathroom will be provided in each of the family’s homes, though local Miami candidates are encouraged to maintain their own residence. Must have a valid passport!
The educator will be responsible for designing experiential, child-led learning opportunities tailored to his evolving interests, and planning educational outings and interactive experiences that extend beyond a traditional classroom setting. Additionally, they will help the child build community in each home by researching and attending local classes, playgroups, and activities. The role requires a balance of sole care and collaboration with hands-on parents, who value a service-minded, team-oriented, “all hands on deck” approach. The ideal candidate will lead by example with a helpful, mindful, and present attitude, inspiring kindness, curiosity, and gratitude in the child.
The family seeks an educator with 10 years of experience, ideally in Montessori, unschooling, or other non-traditional, student-led learning approaches. The right candidate will be energetic, positive, and flexible, with high emotional intelligence, embracing each new adventure with enthusiasm. They should be mindful and present, fostering deep connections and meaningful learning experiences while aligning with the family’s values of love, compassion, growth, contribution, and global citizenship. A bilingual candidate (preferably Spanish) is strongly preferred, as the child has a solid foundation in the language and benefits from daily exposure. Additionally, the family welcomes educators who bring unique skills, such as music, art, or other creative pursuits, to enrich the child’s learning.
This position offers a competitive salary, along with medical and dental insurance and paid time off. The ideal start date is early September, though the family is willing to accommodate an earlier start date for the right candidate.
