Little Gem Resorts is a family-owned collection of boutique resorts located on the iconic islands of Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket, and St John USVI. Guests connect to each enchanting destination with a rare and glorious mix of relaxation and adventure. Our Nantucket Hotel Resort is looking for an energetic professional to supervise our Kids Club during our summer season.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include but are not limited to providing a safe environment for every child that drops in to the Kids Club. Oversee daily operations of program and staff. Assist the Club Manager with other activities including the pools and recreational offerings of the Club and the Nantucket Hotel.
Essential Job Functions
- Assist in the creation and implementation of children’s program suitable for children ages 3-12 yrs old of hotel guests and Club members.
- Providing a safe environment for every child that visits the Kids Club:
- This is the top priority. It means ensuring:
- Physical safety: Preventing accidents, monitoring play areas, and adhering to safety protocols.
- Emotional safety: Creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, addressing conflicts, and providing comfort.
- Supervision: Maintaining appropriate child-to-staff ratios and actively monitoring children's activities.

Critical responsibilities
- Assist in the creation and implementation of children’s programs suitable for children of hotel guests and club members.
- Interact with the children in a way which conveys respect and nurturing.
- Provide activities and opportunities that encourage curiosity, exploration and problem solving appropriate to the development levels of children.
- Oversee daily operation of program and staff.
- Scheduling and assigning staff duties.
- Always maintain a safe environment!
- Assist in the cleaning and organization of the areas during and at the end of your shift.
- Work cooperatively and effectively as a team member by communicating and contributing information on a continuous basis.
- Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management staff.
- Report concerns management.
- Continue to contribute ideas to improve children’s and activities programs.
Qualifications
General Skills / Qualifications
- Prior experience with children required.
- A combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities of children’s programs.
- First Aid and CPR certification required.
- Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends and holidays.
- Must be quick on their feet and adept at handling stressful situations seamlessly.
- Must be computer literate.
- Must have excellent people skills and outgoing personality. Ability to converse with guests and employees in a professional manner. Must be a team player.
- All team members must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available).
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements associated with this role.

- Must be able to pass background and CORI screening.
- Must be able to fulfill the I-9 Form requirements.
