Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping Clerk to join our team. This role requires proficiency in handling packages, operating equipment, and utilizing software systems for order fulfillment. The Shipping Clerk will verify, prepare and maintain all necessary records on all outgoing shipments. They will review and complete paperwork to ensure final product meets job order and shipping specifications. Shipping Clerk will prepare items for shipment which will include, but is not limited to, packing, filling, sealing, affixing necessary labels, and addressing the packages of product or material. Shipping Clerk will arrange for the transportation of products through selected carriers by data entry into the shipping computer or by telephone. This position offers a potential opportunity for advancement into a lead position.
Responsibilities
- Completes all necessary outgoing shipment paperwork
- Reviews outgoing shipments to ensure product meets all job order specifications
- Prepares outgoing shipments by packing products securely and labeling them accurately
- Uses work devices such as tape guns and hand trucks during the packing process
- Lifts, carries, and/or transfers packed boxes within the shipping department
- Extended working hours will be required
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels
- Utilizes software for tracking shipments and managing inventory data
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned by the Plant Manager
Work Activities
- Verify product and counts against job orders.
- Pack completed product into boxes, add fillers, spacers, etc.
- Affixes labels to correct boxes in preparation for shipment
- Enter data into computer or call to schedule carrier pick-ups
- Stack packed product onto shipping pallets
- Performs tasks while standing or walking
- Performs all job activities under supervision of the Shipping Supervisor/and or the Plant Manager
Work Context
- Indoors
- Primarily standing and walking
- Some activities involving repetitive motions
- Some bending, lifting, and carrying (up to 50 lbs.)
- Basic PPE required

- Basic reading and comprehension

- Ability to use or operate tools and other work devices that pertain to the above responsibilities.
- Ability to stand for entire shift (excluding breaks)
Preferred Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in outgoing shipping operations
- Experience with Pacejet shipping software is highly desirable
- Supervisory or lead experience in outgoing shipping operations

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
