NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Remote Broadcast Engineer based in our Concord, North Carolina office.
The Remote Broadcast Engineer is responsible for essential set up and testing of broadcast equipment in the field. The Engineer deploys, troubleshoots and ensures systems are operational prior to broadcast.
Duties include but are not limited to :
Remote Sites :
- Manage all aspects surrounding the set-up, testing and successful operation of the broadcast-transmission equipment necessary to facilitate the broadcast of live and pre-recorded events from remote locations.
- Manage the routing and testing of transmission paths between track and production facility; ensure paths are operational and configured appropriately.
- Manage the maintenance of remote broadcasting equipment; use expertise to perform in-depth troubleshooting and on-the-spot repairs; manage interactions with vendors when external repair services are necessary.
- Manage intercom and router configurations and implement changes as needed. Deploy and test Tally GPI closures.
- Manage, configure & troubleshoot DANTE audio network and DANTE devices for the NASCAR TV compound and MRN.
- Manage backup records of ASI signals.
- Collaborate with broadcast partners and vendors to obtain and distribute audio / video and data feeds.
- NASCAR Production Facility :
- Oversee the deployment, operation and inventory of the broadcast television and radio equipment within the production facility.
- Manage technical operations for live television, radio, and web productions.
- Travel : 50% - 75% including weekends.
Required skills / experience :
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
