Responsibilities
- Perform repairs and routine maintenance on commercial kitchen equipment, including ovens, ranges, fryers, dishwashers, refrigeration units, and other appliances.
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently, recommending cost-effective solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including parts used and work completed.
- Collaborate with the culinary and facilities teams to address kitchen equipment needs promptly.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food sanitation regulations related to equipment.
- Monitor inventory of spare parts and tools, ordering replacements as necessary.
- Assist with general facilities maintenance tasks as needed, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC support.
- Stay updated on advancements in kitchen equipment technology and maintenance best practices.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in equipment maintenance or a related field preferred.
- 2 years of experience repairing and maintaining commercial kitchen equipment.
- Strong knowledge of commercial kitchen appliances, including electrical, gas, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with OSHA and local safety regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks requiring bending, standing, climbing, and working in tight spaces.
- Operates in a working environment that is subjected to varying levels of heat and noise, the severity of which depends upon customer volume. At times subjected to hazards such as wet floors and dangers associated with the use of heavy duty cutlery and cooking equipment.
