Medical Director - The Healthcare Center is one of Los Angeles’ larger community-based health centers. Located in the San Fernando Valley with a stellar 49-year reputation, we provided over 100,000 medical visits last year and are looking to expand. Core programs include primary care, pediatrics, adolescent teen clinic, dental, optometry, and mental and behavioral health. The organization participates in state and local disease collaboratives and QI programs.
We are seeking an Assistant Medical Director to work in our clinic. Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Quality Assurance, peer review, and maintain confidentiality
- Quality improvement, chart audits, and process improvement programs both system-wide and cluster-specific
- Cluster specific meetings and administrative tasks as assigned by the Medical Director
- Help in the recording of no-show visits and lab results / refills
- Collaborate with marketing and other health education staff on education and patient recruitment health fairs
- Maintain current knowledge-base and appropriate licensure
- Maintain productivity per VCH standard
- Ensure compliance with license requirements as stated in Title 22
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
70% Clinical and 30% Administrative tasks for a 5-day work week. The average total number of patients per year is 2000 patients.
The new assistant medical director will rotate in 2 clinics but never on the same day. Each clinic does have three physicians and several mid-level providers. He / She will report to the Medical Director.
