We are seeking an Orthopedic Surgeon | Orthopedist to join our medical practice full time in the Waldorf MD area. Ideally, we are looking for a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon or non-surgical orthopedist, trained in general orthopedics, to join a vertically integrated musculoskeletal practice specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of patients injured in motor vehicle accidents and work-related injuries. Additional specialties within the practice include neurology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, internal medicine, primary care, and chiropractic|physical therapy.
In-house services include physical therapy and chiropractic, (including aquatic therapy with land-based strengthening, work conditioning and work hardening, vestibular and cognitive therapy, and Functional Capacity Evaluations), electrodiagnostic, interventional pain management, and x-rays. The paramount component of the administrative portion of the job duties is providing timely and accurate documentation|reports of the patient visits. Surgical services to our patients can be provided at local outpatient surgery centers or hospitals. We will consider an operative and non-operative Orthopedist. We have multiple locations where the Orthopedist will provide coverage including our offices in southern Maryland.
Job Duties :
- Quality Patient care and management
- Recommend tests and conduct diagnostic testing to determine the extent of injury and to determine appropriate treatment.
- Oversee the patient’s diagnosis and treatment of occupational or motor vehicle injuries.
- Prepare patients for return to work after illness or injury.
- Perform surgery when medically necessary (if an Operative Orthopedic Surgeon)
- Timeliness and accuracy of documentation and reports are paramount.
- Occasionally provide expert testimony on behalf of the patients treated in the case of litigation.
- Collaboration with colleagues and staff for comprehensive patient care.
