Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Park Manager to oversee the daily operations of our park, ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and engaging environment for all visitors. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a background in customer service. This role requires a proactive approach to maintaining facilities and enhancing visitor experiences. This is a seasonal position March - November, potential full time available.

Essential Duties

  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Oversees all activities at the outdoor park facility; uses independent judgment to make day to day decisions about ordering/repairing supplies and with regard to managing leagues
  • Displays good time management skills
  • Attends and participates in periodic meetings with supervisor
  • Performs pre-season and post-season duties for league sports which includes but is not limited to ordering chalk and paint to get the soccer fields and softball diamonds ready, confirming season dates with all league chairpersons, confirming game schedule with referees, setting up the sand volleyball nets, storing the nets at the end of each season, and collecting all game balls from chairpersons
  • Supervises the use, preventive maintenance, and repair of equipment
  • Schedules referees for softball and volleyball leagues
  • Serves as a liaison to the chairpersons/coordinators of the following activities

Volleyball

Flag football

Summer Day Camp

Team Building

  • Establish ongoing rapport with program participants
  • Maintain softball diamonds, sand volleyball courts, and soccer field daily
  • Supervises league play which includes but is not limited to providing all injury report forms to the Lilly Account Manager, responding as directed in a medical emergency, documenting all league issues (participant arguments, referee actions, etc.)
  • Works directly with an appointed Employee Activities contact to get the park ready to open which includes but is not limited to preparing/checking vending machines, AED, trash cans, etc.
  • Demonstrates work ethic, ingenuity, customer care, and attention to detail
  • Maintains familiarity with and abides by the policies stated in the NIFS Employee Handbook
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience

  • Certified to referee softball and volleyball, preferred

Certifications

  • Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification required
  • Trained in Universal Precautions annually (provided by NIFS)

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as NIFS or client rules/policies, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak and write accurately and effectively in English

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and rarely lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. The employee must be able to manage driving a gator around the park grounds and must be able to drag the fields.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions which may include questionable weather; the employee is responsible for monitoring outdoor weather to cancel league games as needed. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
