The National WWII Museum is currently seeking a Marketing and Communications Project Manager. Under the supervision of the Associate Vice President of Marketing, the Marketing and Communications Project Manager establishes plans and deadlines, coordinates resources and workflow, and ensures the successful execution of all marketing and communications projects and multi-channel promotional campaigns. This position serves as the main point of contact for all Marketing and Communications requests received from departments across the Museum. Primary responsibilities include coordinating project kickoff, check-in, and follow-up meetings; developing project plans and timelines; assigning tasks to colleagues; monitoring progress toward milestones; overseeing approval processes; and ensuring that project goals, budgets, and deadlines are met.
Multi-faceted projects and initiatives overseen by this position span all Marketing and Communications channels including paid advertising, digital communications, print collaterals, social media, and public relations. Responsibilities cover all areas of the Museum supported by the Marketing and Communication team, including Museum visitation, public programming, travel and conference programs, membership, fundraising events, retail, event rentals, group sales, entertainment, education, and more. Playing a key role in the daily function of the Marketing and Communications team, the Project Manager proactively monitors the progress of Marketing & Communications initiatives and requests, identifies project challenges and opportunities, and provides regular updates on the status of all projects.
Requirements:- Organize and ensure the successful execution of strategic, integrated multi-channel marketing and communications projects and campaigns.
- Act as the main point of contact for all Marketing & Communications requests received from departments across the Museum.
- Work with colleagues to create strategic project plans and assign the tasks and deadlines needed to meet goals.
- Serve as the lead administrator for the team’s project management system, Asana, ensuring that it remains up to date as new requests are submitted and as progress is made on existing projects.
- Serve as a liaison with other Museum staff, contractors, and external partners to ensure the successful execution of projects.
- Assist with the day-to-day launching and promotion of Museum programs and offerings.
- Undertake other projects as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field required with a minimum of four years of experience, preferably in creative, advertising, marketing, museum, or tourism industry
- Proactive work style with ability to manage multiple projects and consistently meet deadlines
- Experience with project management in an agency or complex organization is strongly preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with a wide range of staff and consultants
- Experience with Asana or other project management software
- Excellent writing, editorial, and proofing skills with keen attention to detail
- Creativity, organizational and analytical skills, and good judgment
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, as needed, that may extend outside of the typical 40-hour workweek, including weekends and evenings, to complete tasks and meet deadlines during high-demand periods
