The National WWII Museum is currently seeking Custodians. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Custodian position performs daily and/or nightly duties as communicated by the on-duty supervisor: Director of Facilities, the Assistant Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Worker, or Lead Custodian.
Requirements
- Perform routine custodial tasks according to established maintenance schedules.
- Perform special assigned duties for floor care including buffing, sealing and stripping, carpet shampoo and extraction, auto scrubbing operations, and pressure washing of the sidewalks.
- Ensure engraved bricks are well maintained and clean.
- Provide input to the Director of Facilities on general maintenance that may need to be performed, such as light bulb replacement or exhibit repairs.
- Maintain security of the Museum during cleaning while the Museum is closed.
- Undertake other duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of Facilities or the Lead Custodian.
- Physical ability to perform manual work.
- Minimum of six months experience in custodial, housekeeping, food service, or other related work.
- Familiarity with cleaning procedures.
- Familiarity with the care and maintenance of custodial equipment.
- Basic knowledge of audio/visual equipment is helpful.
- Regular and reliable attendance
- Willingness to work overtime during special events or heavy visitation periods.
