What We Can Achieve Together
The Isabel Province Program Coordinator assist to oversees all of the conservancy’s conservation work that occurs in Isabel Province under the umbrella of the Isabel Protected Area Network (IPAN). S/he is the spokesperson for this program at the absent of the Program Manager and is responsible for organizing the timeframes and logistics for fieldwork in Isabel. S/he liaises closely with the Isabel Environmental Manager to provide support and assist community members, government stakeholders, TNC staff and donors who are engaged with the conservancy’s work in Isabel Province.
The Isabel Province Program Coordinator assist to provide technical leadership and support to the communities, local NGOS and government staff whom the conservancy partners within Isabel Province. S/he is familiar with marine, terrestrial and turtle conservation programs, as well as the environmental and social issues that face coastal communities in Solomon Islands. The Isabel Province Program Coordinator is experienced in managing diverse teams of stakeholders, scientists and conservationists, and provides training and mentoring to groups; both in a classroom and practical settings. S/he actively mentors local conservation groups to build their technical and management expertise and is skilled at building government relations. The Isabel Province Program Coordinator is also an experienced boat operator, and travels frequently by boat to remote locations for extended periods of time. S/he works closely with other national and international TNC staff to advance Solomon Islands conservation programs. As well as the primary focus in Isabel province, Isabel Province Program Coordinator fosters cross-site learning among national conservation community.

Responsibilities & Scope
Project Implementation
- Assist the Isabel Program Manager in implementing and coordinating terrestrial, marine and coastal projects in Isabel Province.
- Provide logistics and administrative support to project teams for field activities, workshop, and stakeholder engagement.
- Familiar how project progress and ensure timely completion of deliverable
- Ensure program compliance with internal policies and external requirements.
- Support collaboration with local communities, government agencies, NGOs and donors to strengthen conservation and development initiatives.
- Facilitate community consultation, awareness programs, and capacity-building activities
- Represent TNC in relevant provincial meetings, forums, and workshops when required.
- Assist in collecting and documenting project data, reports, and lessons learned from field activities.
- Support Monitoring, Evaluation and learning (MEL) processes to ensure project impact and effectiveness
- Contribute to progress reports and updates for internal and external.
- Coordinate travel, procurement, and field logistics for project teams
- Ensure compliance with TNC policies and safety protocols in project implementation
- Maintain records of project materials, resources, and budget expenditure
- Work closely with TNC managers and staff to integrate activities across different projects in Isabel Province.
- Provide technical and administrative support to strengthen TNC’s impact in conservation, sustainable livelihoods, and community resilience.
- Identify challenge and opportunities to improve program and project delivery and sustainability.
- Communicate site-based work internally and externally
- Works in variable weather conditions, at remote locations, on difficult and hazardous terrain and under physically demanding circumstances.
- Work closely with the program manager to gain cooperation from outside parties to accomplish program goals.
- May requires to travels 60% of her/his time to communities.

What You'll Bring
- BA/BS, law or business degree and 5 years’ experience in natural resource management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience negotiating complex agreements.
- Supervisory experience.
- Experience communicating with the public and/or media both in writing and verbally.
- Experience using applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Web Browsers.
- Experience with government relations.
- Experience in training and curriculum design.
- Knowledge of land management conservation practice and conservation science.
- Ability to explain conservation practices to technical and non-technical audiences
- Knowledge of current trends and practices in conservation, land management, and natural resource preservation.
- Completing tasks independently with respect to timeline(s).
- Excellent communication skills via written, spoken and graphical means in English and local languages.
- Scuba certification
