WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER
The Land Protection Specialist & Information Manager develops, manages and advances conservation programs, plans and methods to advance The Nature Conservancy in Alabama’s goal of conserving critical lands, while providing document and data management support for protection transactions.
The Land Protection Specialist & Information Manager provides technical leadership and support to a business unit and plans and directs aspects of land protection projects. The Land Protection Specialist & Information Manager supports The Nature Conservancy’s conservation strategies and aids the Director of Protection in implementing a full range of protection tools to acquire varying degrees of legal interest in land and implements a variety of strategies to secure public and private support for TNC conservation priorities. Specific duties include managing the real estate due-diligence process; preparing and managing the project approval process; managing information and administrative/technical requirements of land protection projects and conservation easement and fee land monitoring; supporting strategies for land protection transactions, including partnerships, government and private grants, and finances; implementing and achieving the Conservancy’s internal conservation priorities; assisting in securing public and private funds for land protection; researching land ownership information for tracts identified as potential acquisition projects; responding to protection inquiries and screening potential protection projects; and assisting the Director of Land Protection with landowner outreach and negotiation.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Bachelor’s degree and 3 years’ experience in real estate negotiations, program management or similar field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Relationship building experience to work closely with a variety of partners, i.e., media, government officials, internal scientists.
- Experience completing tasks independently with respect to timeline(s).
- Experience with communication via written, spoken and graphical means in English and other relevant languages.
- Experience using common software applications such as Word, Excel, web browsers, etc.
- Experience in training.

SALARY INFORMATION
The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $55,000 - $61,000 for annual base salary. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate’s actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
