WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER

Our Media Relations Manager plays a key role in shaping the public voice of The Nature Conservancy, one of the world’s leading conservation organizations. In this dynamic role, you’ll lead the development and execution of the California chapter’s earned media and PR strategy—building meaningful relationships with top-tier California and national media outlets to generate impactful coverage of our conservation work.

As our Media Relations Manager, you will develop and foster relationships with media contacts and internal and external stakeholders. You will identify and cultivate media opportunities, securing placement in top-tier media outlets. Concurrently, you will facilitate on-going communication within and across the California chapter, marketing divisions across North America, and the larger global organization. You will provide consultation, media training, coaching, and talking points to spokespeople.

You’ll craft compelling written deliverables including press releases, story pitches, talking points, and FAQ sheets to support media outreach, while collaborating closely with TNC staff, partners, and a public relations firm to develop and elevate timely, relevant stories. From managing a strategic media calendar and trainings, to amplifying stories through social media and internally, your work will ensure our conservation impacts reach broad and influential audiences. You’ll support our organization's thought leadership by identifying and preparing speakers for high-profile events. You may supervise staff and travel occasionally, and you will be part of a collaborative, mission-driven team dedicated to making a measurable difference.

If you're passionate about storytelling, media strategy, and protecting our planet's natural resources, we’d love to hear from you.
