WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER


The Payroll Specialist plays a critical role in providing HR operations support services to over 4,000 U.S. employees in all 50 states. They will provide specialized services in payroll administration and ensure the timely processing of payroll and related activities while maintaining a high standard of quality and accuracy. They will provide excellent customer service and work collaboratively with members of the People Team and other cross-functional departments.

Other responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Act as first-tier level support to research and resolve routine customer inquiries in accordance with TNC policies and procedures.
  • Enter data, quality check, and/or process new hire, separation, pay changes, tax withholding, direct deposit, imputed income calculations, and other payroll-related activities in a proactive and timely manner to meet all payroll deadlines.
  • Prepare and process various compliance-related tasks such as garnishment orders, new hire, and BLS reporting.
  • Process or route incoming payroll-related mail or other correspondence to appropriate parties.
  • Assist on other projects as needed.

This position may require flexible work hours as needed to meet biweekly payroll processing or other deadlines.

Location is flexible within commuting distance from the Arlington, VA office and will require in-person office visits to Arlington. The selected candidate should anticipate a need to develop modes of working with a core team located in North America time zones. May require limited domestic travel up to 10%. The work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain.

The ideal candidate will have experience in processing high volume U.S. payroll for organizations with staff located across multiple states, exceptional customer service and communication skills, and be self-motivated and detail oriented. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the ongoing mission of conservation by directing and shaping the work of our team!

  • Experience processing multi-state payroll in an enterprise HRMS such as Workday.
  • CPP or similar certification.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Strong knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software, with ability to construct and produce reports, data input, manipulation, and analysis.
  • Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.
  • Broad understanding of fundamental HR concepts, processes, and services.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years HR related work experience or equivalent combination.
  • Experience responding to HR related questions and problems from employees/management.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: database management and spreadsheet software; constructing and producing reports; data input, manipulation and analysis.
  • Experience working with MS Office software, HR information systems and analytics tools.

SALARY INFORMATION


The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $85,100 – $87,200 annually. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate’s actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
