Essential Functions and Job / Position Summary :
This individual will lead the Broadcast Engineering support for live game & event productions, master control services, and distribution. Direct the technical support team and operations for live broadcasts from remote locations through the broadcast facility at NBA Entertainment. This position requires a person with advanced knowledge of mobile unit productions, master control, and transmission. The person must also have experience in broadcast systems, including video, audio, IP, non-linear record / playback devices, and control systems workflow.
Major Responsibilities :
- Work with Broadcast Operations & Engineering, Production, and IT to support game productions.
- Evaluate and guide decisions regarding new technology and production models, including cloud and remote production.
- Manage vendor relationships for product support of game productions, master control, and distribution (rentals, upgrades, new product development, etc.).
- Contribute to event support and remote buildouts.
- Contribute to the technical support of the High-Speed Arena Network (HSAN), which is the NBA's private fiber network connecting each NBA arena and NBA Entertainment.
- Assist in the technical support and management of the NBA's acquisition and distribution infrastructure.
- Perform on-call, on-site remote emergency troubleshooting and repairs
