We are seeking a consistent and reliable Shared Nurse to assist with the healthcare needs of two students at school. The position will require care at different times of the day.
The Shared Nurse will play a vital role in promoting the health and well-being of students, ensuring a safe and healthy school environment. This position involves assessing student health needs, providing care for acute and chronic conditions, and collaborating with parents, teachers, and healthcare providers to support student health.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments for students, including physical examinations and screenings.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring proper medication administration protocols are followed.
Qualifications
- Valid nursing license (RN or LPN) in the state of employment.
- Familiarity with patient assessment techniques.
- Knowledge and experience in administering tube feeding via a pump, including the ability to manage feeding schedules and troubleshoot any issues.
- Proficiency in performing pediatric urinary catheterization, including sterile technique and proper hygiene practices.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, staff, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team focused on student health outcomes.
