Summary of Position
The NDN Companies is seeking an energetic Sr. Engineer who is interested in serving as a technical expert and mentor for a variety of environmental projects and clients. Typical projects may include supervising the development of complex regulatory reports, implementation of regulatory requirements, and developing sustainable practices and solutions, as the lead engineer. Experience with environmental permitting, report writing, compliance and site assessment required. Duties & Responsibilities
- Consult for federal, municipal, commercial, and industrial clients on environmental investigation and remediation projects
- Manage complex site investigation and remediation projects
- Perform engineering assessments, calculations, pilot testing, and data gap filling for various environmental projects
- Work throughout the country, problem-solving, compiling/evaluating data, preparing presentations and reports, preparing design plans and specifications, and meeting with clients, contractors, and regulators
- Work on designs for vapor intrusion assessment and mitigation, in situ/ex-situ groundwater and soil remediation, industrial stormwater, and other projects/systems
- Provide leadership to environmental science and engineering staff
- Work with project managers and other project staff locally and nationally to support environmental investigation and restoration projects
- Lead and support engineering design and remedial construction work
- Active participation in business development and proposal efforts
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to our policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a BS Degree in environmental science/engineering (Master preferred)
- 10 years of experience in remediation of both soil and groundwater
- Excellent verbal & written communications skills and able to effectively interface with all levels of management, field personnel and professionals
- Must be able to multi-task, prioritize work and adaptable to changing due dates and schedules
- Demonstrated organization, attention to detail and communication skills
- Ability to manage work load independently and deliver timely and accurate results
- Capable of working well under restricted timelines and in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
- Ability to provide excellent customer service across all levels of the organization
- Ability to drive a company vehicle and maintain an acceptable motor vehicle record
- Experience in Soil/groundwater sampling
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
Certifications and Licenses
- Professional Engineering license current and in good standing (PE registration in FL a plus)
- 40 Hour OSHA HAZOPER
- Current 8 hour HAZWOPER certification
- Driver’s License in good standing
- Legal authorization to work in the US required
Working Conditions
Office setting in Jacksonville, FL with days of travel for field work oversight.
Physical Requirements
Walking, standing, bending, crouching and lifting, and carrying equipment.
