Assist licensed anesthesia providers in the acquisition, preparation, and application of the equipment and supplies required for the administration of anesthesia. Assist licensed anesthesia providers in the acquisition, preparation, and application of the equipment and supplies required for the administration of anesthesia.Required Qualifications:Minimum of 18 years of age required.High school education or equivalent required.Based on department needs, completion of a certified nursing assistant program may be required.Currently enrolled as a student pursing a nursing degree or 2 years' experience in direct patient care required.Ability to demonstrate a professional and positive attitude with patients and other health team members required.Ability to maintain a clean, safe, economical patient environment required.Ability to demonstrate age specific competencies required.Utilize highly effective, appropriate, and timely communication skills required.Knowledge of operating room equipment (e.g., ECG and physiologic monitors, bi-spectral index monitors) requiredKnowledge of computers required.Good communication skills required.Experience with patient care equipment/supplies, telecommunication systems, pneumatic tube systems and policy manuals for decontamination and cleaning of medical devices required.Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel required.Experience with EPIC electronic medical record required.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA) upon completion of unit orientation required.Preferred Qualifications:Prior hospital experience with perioperative care preferred.Healthcare related degree preferred.Demonstrated extensive knowledge and competencies in operation and troubleshooting of the following equipment (airway, blood bank, invasive blood pressure, all physiologic monitors, bispectral index) preferred.American Society of Anesthesia Technologist and Technicians (ASATT) credentials preferred.Nebraska Medicine is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
