JOB DESCRIPTION: The NCUS Director reports to the Division Director of the Child and Family Services. He/she is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the NCUS Program, demonstrating the ability to plan and organize his/her work site in a seamless, efficient and productive system. The Director is responsible for providing the essential guidance and leadership necessary in assisting for developing programing, securing funding and assisting monitoring the day-to-day oversight of the program site and work functions of staff and for the planning and review of service goals in order to meet desired outcomes of the NUCS Program in accordance with The Neighborhood Center, Inc. policies and procedures.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Assigns and monitors work/tasks regularly in order to ensure the smooth and continual flow of work.
- Schedules team meetings to provide opportunities for sharing information, problem solving, and mutual support in order to create a cohesive team leading to increased quality of service.
- Distributes the workload to meet program requirements and optimally utilize staff skills.
- Functions as an interagency liaison in order to maintain good working relationships with agency programs and community stakeholders.
- Attends seminars, conferences and/or workshops in order to increase knowledge of supervisory skills.
- Meets with respective direct supervisor regularly regarding progress and other service matters in order to ensure that the service meets identified goals and objectives.
- Holds individual meetings with staff in order to maintain a supportive work environment to promote high morale and staff growth. These staff include programming staff and/or volunteers, and advisory committees, and UPK (for on-site matters only)
- Evaluates progress toward the achievement of agency and program goals and objectives in order to determine and develop feedback about program effectiveness.
- Evaluates staff performance in relationship to agency standards and expectations.
- Ensures that internal/external reports are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Periodically reviews program, client, contract or other required documentation to ensure compliance with standards and all regulatory mandates.
- Attends meetings as necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the service or as requested by administration.
- Oversees all building operations and making sure maintenance and repairs/issues are coordinated with the Neighborhood Center Facility Services director
- Schedules team meetings to provide opportunities for sharing information, problem solving, and mutual support in order to create a cohesive team leading to increased quality of service.
- Coordinates all requests for time-off, conferences, including sick leave and other tasks in order to ensure the smooth operation and provision of services.
- Maintains self in a professional manner at all times, adhering to Neighborhood Center policy, procedures and in keeping with the mission statement.
- Performs other duties as requested by Agency Administration.
- Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility of each employee. Employees are expected to report to work as scheduled, on time and prepared to start working.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated extensive knowledge of community resources and multiple human service delivery systems.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively evaluate program goals and objectives in order to determine and develop feedback about program effectiveness.
- Demonstrated ability to serve as a role model for staff in order to maintain a supportive work environment that promotes high morale and staff growth.
- Demonstrated organizational, assessment and communication skills commensurate with this position.
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible and work independently.
- Demonstrated ability to secure cooperation of and work effectively with supervisory staff of other agencies in the community.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or a closely related field and three (3) years related experience in Community program development and two (2) years supervisory experience required.
