Position Overview:
The Store Manager oversees daily operations, maintains financial records, and ensures a positive customer experience. The ideal candidate will be courteous, organized, and committed to maintaining confidentiality both during and after employment.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service: Prioritize customers, greet them courteously, and offer assistance in locating items.
Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality at all times, including off hours and post-employment.
Staff Oversight: Oversee staff, volunteers, and interns, ensuring efficient store operations.
Financial Management:
Count cash at the end of the day.
Close out the credit card machine.
Deposit daily profits into the agency bank account.
Maintain the daily Totals Ledger.
Count and deposit funds from the donation jar weekly.
Track monthly vouchers on a spreadsheet.
Volunteer Coordination: Track monthly volunteer hours.
Reporting: Submit end-of-month financials and paperwork to the Executive Director, including deposit receipts, credit card slips, Totals Ledger, volunteer hours, and voucher spreadsheet.
Community Representation: Represent the agency within the community and act as a spokesperson to increase awareness and support.
Merchandise Handling: Assist with sorting, washing, and hanging clothing items, shoes, accessories, and toys.
Lifting Requirements: Lift large bags, boxes, and totes of donated and stored items, up to 40 lbs.
Activity Involvement: Participate in daily, monthly, and quarterly activities.
Administrative Assistance: Assist with clerical work, telephone duties, and inventory management.
Team Support: Provide assistance and support to co-workers as needed.
Store Displays: Assist with creating and maintaining store displays.
Meeting Attendance: Attend team building, staff, and board meetings as assigned.
Promotions and Programs: Assist with store promotions, programs, and fundraising activities.
Work Atmosphere: Maintain a positive work atmosphere through positive attitudes, communications, and behaviors.
Qualifications:
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Experience in retail management or a similar role preferred.
Ability to lift and move items up to 40 lbs.
